Grammy Award Winner Teams Up With A Seriously Ill Child To Produce A Musical Hit And Raise Awareness

Four-time Grammy award winner, Steven Battey has started his own charity, dedicated to supporting children with life endangering illnesses through the power of music.

The work he’s doing is completely inspirational.

Recent studies have shown that music can help alleviate the symptoms of certain illnesses. So Steven has set out to change the lives of some very ill children through music. It’s seriously enough to put a spring in anyone’s step.

Singing for Superheroes creates an incredible musical experience. They create their own original music, record the songs in actual recording studios, and produce music videos. This is all for children fighting for their lives.

They’ve collaborated with some of the music industry’s finest celebrities to help bring the star power to each child’s music video.

‘We firmly believe that the real superheroes in life are the children afflicted with illnesses and disabilities, and are striving every day to live life to the fullest.

‘They inspire us, which is why we created and launched Singing for Superheroes. It’s part of our effort to help them through their journey and do good in the world,’ said Steven Battey.

Steve recently teamed up with little Aubrey Nethery, a young girl who started a Youtube channel just over two years ago.

Audrey first gained attention two years ago after a video of her singing Taylor Swift’s ‘You Belong With Me’ went viral. Since then she’s gotten a lot of attention. She has danced with pop artist Selena Gomez to ‘Love You like a Love Song’, and appeared on television programs such as Rachel Ray and Good Morning America.

Aubrey sadly suffers from DBA, a rare bone marrow disorder. Most people with this condition live with severe forms of anemia.

The pair sung Life’s Beautiful, the first music video created by Singing for Superheroes, and is the first video in the collection.

The song was specially written for Audrey by Steven Battery and Scott Nethery, Audrey’s father.

‘Audrey is a remarkable girl who has shown incredible strength and joy in the face of adversity. She inspired us to write “Life’s Beautiful” and we are thrilled to release it to the world,’ Steven said.

The video soon reached 4 million views on Youtube, making it a huge success!
