Illegal Cancer – Causing Chemical Found In Nearly 100 Popular Shampoo Brands

Most of consumers neglect the fact that lots of hygienic products contain toxic substances. Do you read the declaration of composition when you choose shampoo or conditioner?

According to a recent research, many companies are not showing the entire composition, about which chemicals are really in their products.

Center for Environmental Health in Oakland, California analyzed various shampoos and soaps. In their composition they have found over 98 chemicals, including carcinogen, also known as cocamidediethanolamine (cocamide DEA).

This controversial ingredient, that is common for many body – care products, led to four lawsuits in California, for manufacturers of personal care products.

It is against the law manufacturers to utilize substances and not list that in the composition as a warning for the consumers.

The foam stabilizer and volumising agent are considered as carcinogen. In the State of California it is banned after a study, that find out that it caused cancer in laboratory animals.


According to lab research, some body and hair care products might use this ingredient. Presumably involved companies are: Colgate, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, and Prell. Also, carcinogen was found in children’s products: store-brand bubble bath from KMart, and a shampoo/conditioner from Babies R Us, products from Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Kohl’s.

The FDA allows an odd list of chemicals that manufacturers can add into their products even though the chemicals are toxic. Many chemicals are known as carcinogens and contribute the failure of the liver and endocrine problems.

It is up to you as a consumers to be careful what are you buying. You should not permit the companies that haven’t labeled this dangerous carcinogenic chemical to prosper. Use only proven and eco – friendly brands that actually care about you as a buyer and our nature.
